Get a just-off-the-beach hairstyle this summer

May30

Would you believe if me if I told you that I haven't straightened my hair since December? Well, believe it, 'cause it's the truth! I kid you not - I don't even know where my straightener is. I think it's lying somewhere around my house, and I didn't even bother bringing it back to school with me after Christmas vacation. You should follow suit because a.) straightening your hair can fry it right up - especially if you do it every day! Tsk tsk; and b.) pin-straight, perfect hairdos are out. What's in is messy (like you just rolled out of bed, but still look straight-up glam), beach-y hair a la Erin Wasson (if you don't know who she is, Google her right now and fall in love with her effortless style).

Of course, capturing that perfect wavy hairstyle requires a little bit of effort and some help out of a bottle. A month or so ago I scooped up this Garnier Fructis Wave-Enhancing Spray at Target, and I absolutely love it. The price tag - $3.50! - makes the deal even sweeter. Read on to learn about how I maintain my just-off-the-beach hairstyle.

Garnier Fructis Style Wave-Enhancing Spray, Wonder Waves, Flexible

$3.50 by Garnier at Walgreens

Laziness is a key factor. The past few weeks, blowing my hair out has just become a chore. Coupled with the humidity we've been experiencing the past week on LI, it's not even worth blow-drying my hair because it'll just curl up again. Now, I have naturally wavy hair, so achieving messy curls is easier for me than someone with pin-straight hair. (So if your hair tends not to respond to any type of curling product, you should probably stop reading - this probably won't work for you!) I apply this spray straight out of the shower, after towel-drying my hair. After it dries a bit more, I'll add some gel and scrunch it, followed by a few spritzes of the spray again. Then I repeat periodically throughout the day. Pretty effortless.

If any of you have other products you use and love when creating a just-off-the-beach hairdo, I'd love to hear about it. Leave any comments/suggestions or e-mail me at hellooogorgeous.blog@gmail.com.
