Raise your hand if you're obsessed with lip gloss. If you're like me, you amass a collection of balms and glosses without truly finishing a tube before you're onto your next one. We've all been there. I recently had a breakthrough and (gasp!) almost finished my tube of L'Oreal Colour Juice lip gloss in Pink Grapefruit. I would have finished the tube except that I lost it. Thus, I needed to refill the empty hole that was left as a result of losing said gloss.
I tried CoverGirl WetSlicks last summer in Guava Splash - it was pink in the tube but wasn't overwhelming when applied and gave my lips a nice glisten. So I headed to my drugstore and, feeling adventurous, scooped up a tube of WetSlicks in the darker (and pinker, more fuschia shade) Raspberry Splash. A few days later, I was watching an episode of 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' and noticed that I really loved the lip color Kim was wearing during her commentary - sort of a brown-ish, caramel shade. It reminded me that I lost my tube of L'Oreal Colour Juice, so I headed (again) to the drugstore and scooped up a new tube in Caramel Creme, hoping for results that would be similar to Kim's.

L'Oreal Colour Juice Sheer Juicy Lip Gloss
$8.48 by L'Oreal at drugstore.com
Overall, L'Oreal's Colour Juice was the winner. It stayed on longer, and felt less greasy. One plus to WetSlicks, though, was that the color of the gloss wasn't overwhelming. It tinted my lips a bit, but not too much. However, it felt a little bit too greasy for my liking, and I felt as though WetSlicks didn't condition my lips as well as L'Oreal's gloss. It also came off quicker whenever I would drink or eat something. When it comes to the actual color of Caramel Creme, like WetSlicks, the hue wasn't overwhelming - it's definitely darker than my original tube of Pink Grapefruit.
While both glosses retail for under $10 (and WetSlicks are definitely cheaper), I'm going to opt for L'Oreal's glosses in the future. I'm converted!
