Tailored sexy with dressed down footwear was the overall trend for men at the Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall 2009 show.

Models wore cardigans and blazers reminiscent of 1950s casual menswear - is this a trend we should all be catching on to? There were also warm tones signaling the autumn season; this collection makes me think of changing leaves and cool, crisp weather! Don't wanna get too ahead of myself on that one, it's not even spring yet. Overall definitely something different than what Marc Jacobs showed yesterday in his colorful collection - but of course, this collection is noteworthy as well.

I'd never heard of Boy by Band of Outsiders 'til this Fashion Week, and needless to say I'm head over heels for these looks. I'd describe the collection as uptown cool-meets-Parisian sidewalk chic; this brand manages to make preppy appetizing cool again. (Special thanks to J.Crew for officially ruining it, thankfully Boy by Band of Outsiders was there to pick up the pieces. Shame!) Here's 3 of my fave looks, check the rest out via Style.com.

On a last note - loving those lace-up booties, especially in yellow!

New York Fashion Week begins tomorrow people, which means the blogosphere will be abuzz all weekend long (eek!). Although this year's spectacle will be toned down due to economic conditions, I think we can all still expect some fabulous shows and clothes.
Check out this candid pic I found of Doutzen Kroes (along with Veronica Webb) at a Fashion Week party from The Fashionista, isn't she adorable?

Stay tuned all weekend, I'll be sure to have updates of the different looks, designers, and celebrities. Cheers!

YES! The rumors were indeed true that our new First Lady, the uber-stylish Michelle Obama, will be the cover gal for Vogue's March Issue. Here's the cover shot, which was revealed today...

I think Michelle's looking gorgeous, per usual. I also love the fuschia dress, it makes her pop against that monotone beige/gold background. Definitely picking this mag up ASAP!

Have you been wondering lately exactly how designers are dealing with the horrendous economy? M.I.S.S. Crew has you covered in this arena - they've uncovered a handwritten note of all sorts of tips from designer Vivienne Westwood on how to stay fashionable in these unsightly economic times.
Amongst them, "Boxer shorts worn as outer wear," preferably in silk. Hey, that doesn't seem too far-fetched or expensive... I just might have to try that one. (Silk boxers with some tights and ankle boots? How very Rumi Neely of me!) Be sure to have yourself a look at the rest of the tips, they're truly inspirational.

Originally I only intended to post about the white Balmain dress pictured below - I spotted it at FabSugar and it immediately caught my eye. How amazing is the cut of the dress? Plus, the studded belts on the torso only add to its fabulous-ness. When I was browsing the rest of the Balmain looks, I couldn't resist posting about Balmain's hot pink dress and black tube dress - a similar take on the white version.

Doesn't each dress immediately draw your attention? The pink one looks like an ediger take on Herve Leger's banded dress, no? Either way, I love the rocker look these models are sporting; it's complemented by those studded shoes! How fab would those be for a night out?! If I could have one (in some alternate universe), my pick would have to be the black tube dress - it's just perfection.

How utterly fabulous are Christian Lacroix's pieces that were showed off in Paris?! They are so 'Material Girl' - so full of life! Plus, for some reason I love polka dotted clothing; they just make me giddy inside.

How amazing is the navy and white polka dotted trench/dress?! Want, want, want!

After much discussion about what designer our new First Lady would opt to wear to today's inauguration ceremony, it turns out Michelle chose to wear a design by Isabel Toledo. Michelle looks flawless, doesn't she? The cut of the dress is flattering and appropriate, and the color is perfect to signal that we're transitioning to spring soon - a new season, a new era!
I'm also adoring those green shoes as an accent. Fabulous!

According to The Cut, Michelle's shoes are by Jimmy Choo. How very Carrie Bradshaw of her!
