"FASHION FADES, ONLY STYLE REMAINS THE SAME."
- Coco Chanel
How inspiring is this quote from the truly iconic Coco Chanel? Lately my style philosophy is centered around this mantra: "The rule is... there are none." I'm learning to forgo trends for just wearing what I want, when I want. In the past month, I've purchased two new pairs of boots. YES, I know it's summer, and YES, I know the weather will warm up, so why would I want to buy boots? Let me answer these questions... First of all, I bought boots because I really liked them. As some of you may already know, I recently scooped up a pair of Sam Edelman 'Uri' boots. So fringe-y and fabulous!

A few days ago my mom and I were at Macy's and I ended up going home with a pair of Jessica Simpson cowboy boots. I couldn't resist! They were on the clearance rack, begging to come home with me (as many pairs of shoes often do... they call out to me, I swear it). The ones shown below aren't the exact ones I bought, but they have the same heel - the only difference is that mine go up pretty high, they cover my entire calf pretty much.

As many of my fellow shoppers know, the end of the season is the perfect time to buy - there's so many sales! But unfortunately, shopping the end-of-season winter sale can normally mean you end up with lots of cold-weather pieces just as the weather starts to warm up again. I was feeling a little bit like that with my boots, wondering when I'd be able to rock them... I didn't want to wait until fall, it seems so far away! Luckily, the stars aligned and I was provided with some celebrity inspiration about how I can wear my boots before the unrelenting summer heat sets in.

The first picture shows Kim Kardashian at the airport, which is a prime opportunity to wear boots. As long as they can come off and on easily (for security checks), and they're comfortable for walking through an airport, boots can be a good choice because planes can get so cold, especially if you're in flip flops! I always feel like whenever I wear flip flops in a plane the air conditioner is blasting on my feet. In Lindsay's case, rock your boots with a pair of fab shorts - as long as your feet can breathe and won't sweat up a storm! This means NO Uggs, people. (If it's warm enough to wear shorts, it's warm enough to stow your Uggs away until the next snowfall. TRUST me!)
