Now this is what I'm talking about! The good folks over at Nike have saluted Lawnguyland (all you natives know what I'm talking about) with a special edition Air Force 1 paying tribute to none other than Jones Beach. Every Long Island kid has a connection to Jones Beach in some form - whether it was seeing concerts there or frequenting the boardwalk, or just plain chillin with your friends at the beach.
Dropping Friday, July 3rd at Rockville Center's Extra Butter.

Gotta love that the shoe comes complete with the image of LI emblazoned on the sole. Don't sleep on these, I doubt they'll last long.

OMG! How hot are these? Jeremy Scott has been turning up the temperature with his adidas designs - if you guys don't remember, awhile back I posted Jeremy's sneaker design that I was lusting after then - gold with wings! I would love to get inside this man's brain for a day, who would have ever thought of this?

According to Hypebeast these'll be released in August. Not sure what the retail price will be, I'm guessing upwards of $200. More pics over at Hypebeast, check them out!

Vans has come a long way since its beginnings in Southern California in the 1970s. This fall, though, the iconic skateboard shoe will return to its roots and offer two classic designs - the slip-on and Era - in original colorways.

Lots more pics at HighSnobiety, so if you're itching for a more detailed view of the kicks head over there. Also, be sure to scoop up your copy of the Vans book... I already got mine! Lots of fab eye candy and interesting stuff about the history of Vans.

Like I said earlier today - can you believe it's June already?! Honestly, where did the month of May go? It does feel like a few months have passed since I was in school - even though it's been about three weeks since my last class. Anyways, fresh for summer's beginning Converse is about to drop the "Turndown," a play on its classic Chuck Taylor design. According to Hypebeast, the shoe will be available in three colorways. Here's my personal pick...

I've already got a pair of Jerry Sailor Hi's that roll down, so I don't think I'll be scooping up a pair of the Turndowns. Check the link (above) to see the two other colors and learn more about the shoe.

Oops, my bad. I totally thought the Vans book came out today, but I guess today is the shipping date for its actual release on June 4th. Anyways, pre-order yours now or reserve a copy at your local Barnes and Noble (or whatever bookstore you frequent/is nearest to you). The LA Times did a piece on Vans, so here's a blurb from the article about the forthcoming publication:
"The photo-heavy book traces the label's path to the pantheon of Southern California culture. And in addition to fixing in print the early history of the company -- the way the shoes were adopted early on by skateboarders, the unlikely way that checkerboard pattern found its way to the center of the '80s look -- it does something else that's been key to Vans' success: It perpetuates the vibe that the label is still a small, family-run business."

I'm excited to actually get my copy! Hit the link above to see the rest of the LA Times article, or check out more info 'bout the book via Vans' official site.

New for Fall '09, Nike's releasing the Braata, which looks to me like a Vans Era-esque shoe. Check them out below:

Here's some more info from Sneaker News, if you're interested:
"Nike 6.0 will release a new vulcanized inspired model in their Fall 2009 Collection, the shoe is called the Braata, and will come in two different colorways in it’s initial season debut. The outsole appears to be a vulcanized outsole but is actually made up of Phylon, a lightweight material, that allows for the shoe to be more flexible and durable while remaining comfortable and offering a sensitivity similar to that of vulcanized outsole."
These are pretty decent looking, but I'm not blown away. Since it's Nike, we can obviously expect a lot more releases in the coming months, so if you're not feeling these just sit tight.

Spotted this Brooklyn Projects x Supra collab on Sneaker News; apparently it's an old release but Brooklyn Projects managed to keep a few that they're re-releasing out into the world. Zebra print and baby blue is a fab combo though, don't ya think? I know nothing else about the shoe, so for more info check out Sneaker News.

Some more info from the good people over at Vans! They've got another collab in the works, this one to be released June 12th and slated to be a bit pricier than the Eras I just posted about. Here's more info from HighSnobiety:
"...the upcoming Vans 3 Feet High Half Cab Pack, [is] a collaboration with DQM, Huf and with Kicks/Hi. The DQM Half Cab comes in a black/blue gingham pattern, the Huf Half Cab in premium exotic leather and the Kicks/Hi comes in perforated suede and mesh with orange accents."

I've never actually tried on a pair of Half Cabs so I don't know how they look on my feet, but I love the design of them. Be sure to check out HighSnobiety for pics of the other two color editions, plus some more info about the shoes.

Besides their classic slip-ons, Eras are another classic design by Vans. Check out the latest collab with Japanese brand Beauty & Youth. I'm loving the black and gray colorway, they'd go with any outfit. Here's more info from Hypebeast:
"The shoes are seen in three different colorways utilizing classic materials in a vintage arrangement, which includes the classic sneaker boxes as well. The lineup will see a release tomorrow May 29th at Beauty & Youth retail outlets throughout Japan as well as United Arrows locations. Retail is set at ¥7,140 (Approx. $74 USD) a piece."

Just in time for back-to-school, Vans is coming out with a collection for you to rep your city... but only if you're from San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, or Chicago. Either way, I like the colorways on all of these shoes.

I'm liking those black and orange Eras, even though I have no use for anything orange in my wardrobe really. Oh well - check Hypebeast for more info about the shoes. Goodnight!
