By now I think we're all wondering the same thing - which piece will Forever 21 copy first and how soon will it hit stores?! Ha!

I'll admit it - I haven't seen Slumdog Millionaire... yet. I know, I know, I'm ridiculously behind especially after the film received rave reviews and a few Oscars. Regardless, I'm still marveling about how stunningly gorgeous Freida Pinto is - the girl's career is just taking off! I spent the better part of my day yesterday poring over March's ELLE issue. There's a lot of pages that need to be bookmarked, people! I took lots of notes that I plan to share with you, so you can have a fashionable spring season. 

Anywho, since the pages of fashion mags are chock full of ads (more than necessary), I always bookmark ones I fall in love with - and Gucci's spring ad happened to be just one of them, mainly because I started obsessing over the bright, violet eyeshadow the models sported. If you have no clue what I'm talking about, check out a sample here:

See what I'm talking about? Anyways, this morning I was browsing Who What Wear and came across a post about beauty trends for this upcoming spring - lo and behold, "violet accents" are in for spring 2009! And it doesn't have to be limited to purple shadow - violet lips are in, too! (Just a word of warning though - if you're gonna rock a bright purple eye, please don't pair it with purple lipstick. It's tacky. If you're accenting a feature with purple, be sure to keep the rest of your look demure and toned-down.)

I spotted these in the March issue of ELLE yesterday, and the images of them have been permanently seared into my mind. Maybe it's 'cause I missed out on nabbing suede, fringe boots for the winter - but with the amount of salt they throw down in upstate NY it wouldn't be worth it, 'cause those babies would be ruined in no time.

So, I decided to fight my shopping demons and resist the urge to purchase a pair of suede boots I'd surely ruin. As the snow slowly melts and the sun starts to make its way back into our lives for spring I'm even more excited by the fact that we can all wear open-toed shoes! Suede can finally make a return to my life (and wardrobe) and I'm thinking of initiating the fabric's return with these puppies, since I don't have very many nude heels.

If I had a celeb budget, I'd dress myself in all of Alexander Wang's clothes. (<--click that link to peep the rest of the lookbook!!) I seriously think the man can do no wrong right now - I'm loving all of his designs. I'm lusting after this cutout sweater, and apparently "Gossip Girl" star Taylor Momsen adored a similar look because she rocked one of Alexander Wang's cutout dresses to an event. Words can't describe my jealousy...

I know I keep referring to it, but I can't get my mind of ELLE's country western spread. I keep thinking of it when I go shopping - it's really (literally) influencing my spring wardrobe choices! For instance, today I snagged a denim vest at H&M, wondering how I could add some more western vibes to it.

A girl can dream, can't she?

Even before Vogue was on everyone's shiz list, I was a major fan of ELLE mag. Like I've said in older posts, I believe ELLE to be much more accessible not only to twentysomethings like myself but also to shoppers on a budget. This spread proves my exact point - the model is draped in $7 Target leggings for one photo (same ones I have!), a $40 Minnetonka hat in others, and a $50 vest from my mecca H&M. Vogue, take notes.
