I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend! For those of us in NY, the rain managed to hold off for a few days to finally give way to some sun! It was definitely long overdue. I'm sure most of you were dressed wonderfully this Fourth of July, but just for kicks let's check out what the starlets rocked this past weekend.

Orlando Bloom & Miranda Kerr

Alright so neither of these celebs are American which probably explains why they aren't too patriotic in their outfits. Regardless, Miranda's outfit is chic and comfortable, perfect for the SoCal heat. Even though Miranda's a model, explaining the absence of any potential body fat, this is a look that anyone can easily rock. All it takes is a belt, maxi skirt, and black tube top. A+ to the couple for effortless summer style.

Jessica Biel

Mary Camden (haha, just joking) was spotted out and about with beau JT this past weekend. I'm iffy on her style in general. I understand the whole sans makeup thing, but sometimes Jessica is just too masculine looking for me. I'm not loving this outfit, the whole motorcycle jacket over spring florals getup just isn't doing it for me. The mismatched flats don't add to it either - Jessica would have been better off with shoes in a neutral shade, maybe black to match her jacket.

Zac Efron & Vanessa Hudgens

Overall these two have pretty good style. It looks like Vanessa isn't wearing any pants in this shot, but if you look closely you can see the fraying fringe of denim shorts peeping out under her tank. I like Vanessa's boho chic style and she's usually cute on the red carpet. Zac's not too bad either.

Rihanna

Talk about daring! The Bajan star partied in Vegas wearing a blazer and... not much else. This can either be a major fashion faux pas or it can have the J.Lo dress effect, which do you think? 

While Rihanna got glammed up this past weekend it seems as though most other celebs stayed pretty low-key. Stay tuned, I'll be bringing you more celeb outfit info as the day progresses. Cheers!

Jessica Biel got all glammed up for Gotham magazine's latest issue. Correct me if I'm wrong - which I could be - but wasn't Jessica complaining in Allure or some other mag that she's not getting parts because she's too pretty? Wah, wah. I'm sure, because all the parts in Hollywood are going to the ugly (nonexistent) actresses!

Either way, Jessica looks gorgeous in these shots. I know people generally think 'less is more' when it comes to make up, but I think Jessica looks so beautiful when she's done up, especially since candid shots of the actress usually show her post-workout in sweats. Loving the messy-but-retro hairdo, works so well for Jessica! (And kinda reminds me of her hair in the movie 'Summer Catch' with Freddie Prinze Jr., anyone remember it?)

I originally meant to write this post about an outfit Jessica Biel wore to an event recently, but instead I stumbled across this (older) photo of her in a long dress and short jacket and I knew I'd seen the look before - on none other than uber-fashionista Ashley Olsen (whose closet I'd love to raid). The original picture of Ashley I searched for wasn't the one I ended up using (anyone remember Ashley donning a black leather jacket and white dress?), but this one works as well.

So who do you think looks better? I'm gonna have to go with Ashley Olsen - Jessica Biel looks slightly uncomfortable, and I'm not feeling the whole denim-esque jacket look on Jessica since it looks like she's attending a black-tie event.

Even though celebrities have the luxury of a professional makeup artist to glam them up for events, it still doesn't mean you can't try to imitate how your fave starlet looked on one particular night. I've found this strategy especially useful with celebrities who share my hair and skin color, because it's a great way of find out about new looks you wouldn't necessarily think up yourself.

I tend to check Temptalia.com every couple of days, they did a great job covering Fashion Week and produced once again with last night's Oscars. Their instructions include step-by-step instructions in copying a look, and even products that were used in the original routine. My favorite outfit of the night, Angelina Jolie, was included in their how-to guides as well. Others include Halle Berry, Nicole Kidman, Jessica Biel, and Nicole Kidman... and that's only the first page! Plus, they preview MAC collections and products before anyone other site I've seen, so if you're a MAC lover like me it's a site worth bookmarking!

Aside from what was expected - that William Rast's audience would be especially star-studded, with the likes of JT's girl herself Jessica Biel (AKA Mary Camden) - I wasn't particularly fond of the looks on the models at William Rast.

Strange, seeing as Justin Timberlake was just named GQ's Most Stylish Man. I'm also not a huge lover of denim head-to-toe, it just reminds me of bad '90s TV shows. There just wasn't anything about this collection that excited me. You can see the rest of the looks via Style.com and make the judgment call yourself.

Now that it's *officially* the New Year, aren't you wondering what beauty trends will be in? I know I have! Fortunately, ELLE magazine's creative director Joe Zee is giving us a little preview of what we can expect over the next 12 months. 

If you're too lazy to read, what's in for '09 is red hair, natural-hued lips, long locks, and naturally (with some help) long lashes! Maybe I should pick up some of that MAC Freckletone lipstick I've been planning on buying for so long now!

You've probably been thinking that it's about time to toss your Abercrombie mini skirt circa 2004 - and I'm right with you. Thankfully, this spring, maxi skirts are all the rage. Check out Jessica Biel in her maxi while vacationing in Italy with sweetheart Justin Timberlake:

Here's a trend you can try out without investing too much: a long sweater vest! Check out the look on Kim Kardashian and Jessica Biel, both shown below. These vests are a great way to dress up jeans (as these celebs exhibit) and a white tee, or wear it over leggings. It's a simple way to add texture to your outfit, too! For a more daring look, snag some inspiration from fashion risk-taker Rihanna and pair a patterned vest with a tee.
