I'll be quite honest - as much as I'm a fan of summer and warm weather, sandals just don't do it for me. I just don't understand why wedges and other peep-toe pumps run upwards of $100, when you can only wear them for a few months (especially for those of us in the Northeast). In my opinion, I'd rather buy a pair of closed toes shoes that I can wear in both summer and winter. So that's my two cents.
And of course, there are always exceptions to the rule, which may be the case with Aldo's Parrin peep-toe boots. Retailing at $100, I'd normally be hesitant to spring for them but they'd look fab with stockings or completely bare. Check out nitro:licious' Wendy rocking the black version and fashiontoast's Rumi in the beige ones.

The super-high heel is pretty fabulous as well, but I'll bet walking in these takes some getting used to!

The rainy New York weather is definitely making me feel like it's closer to fall than summer. Which is why I deemed this post pretty appropriate given the outdoor conditions - Wendy over at nitro:licious posted three pages worth of pics from Nine West's Fall collection preview! Here's a tiny little taste of what you can expect this autumn...

It seems as though Nine West's capitalizing on the zipper, studs, and chains trend that's taken ahold of the fashion world. (If you haven't noticed these accents anywhere, get ready - cause you will soon!) Lately Nine West has definitely stepped up their game, they used to be a brand I associated with the older, working-age crowd (which I guess includes me now... ew), but recently they've revitalized themselves and now seem fresh and youthful. I'll be keeping my eye on this collection - there's a few pieces I'll definitely need for my autumn '09 wardrobe.

While the rest of the country seems to be caught in the harsh wave of a recession, Nike's been cranking out the women's footwear like it's nobody's biz. First the Skinny Dunks rocked the scene this year with a shoe tailored to our slim lady feet, and now feast your eyes on some of Nike's latest releases: the Bamboo Weave Blazer Mid and Jordan 1 Icy Pack:

Are you guys feeling these shoes? I'm definitely a fan of the Blazer design but not too sure how I feel about the bamboo detailing. How long does that last before it starts to splinter? The Jordans are pretty nice, although is it weird for me to say that Nikes in general make my feet look too big? I think I'm gonna hold out for a pair of Vans, but if you wanna know more 'bout these kicks, check out nitro:licious for more info on the Blazer and Sneaker Freaker to learn more about the Jordan 1's.

Earlier today I was expressing my love for super-destroyed denim. I know it sounds ridiculous, I mean as a real "adult" I should be buying clothes that I can actually wear in an office... to a real job. But I can't deny my new obsession with destroyed denim, I feel as though it's dressed down with a grunge feel but at the same time so chic. Some new denim is launching at Fruition, check out a pic:
Image via nitro:licious
See what I mean when I said 'destroyed?' I first found out about these babies through the M.I.S.S. Crew blog - head on over there to find out more details about these jeans (they come in white and black, too) and how to purchase (I can tell you they're $210, and that's about all I know.)
As cool-looking as I think these are, I doubt I'd spend $210 on them. No, let me re-phrase - I wouldn't spend $210 on any denim. Plus, these inspire me to want to try the trend out on my own. One of the perks of unemployment is having lots of time on your hands to do cool projects at home, so I will most definitely be using these as inspiration for my own version. It's kind of ironic, because destroyed denim often costs more than regular non-torn-up jeans... when in reality you're paying more to have someone ruin your jeans before you even wear them. Weird!

I'm taking the lazy route and combining these two items into one post. (I justify this because they came from the same source - nitrolicious!) First up, get a glimpse of some of H&M's pieces for spring. As always, I'm liking all the clothes and looking forward to shopping at H&M for my spring wardrobe! I wish there was a store closer to my school, I hate driving an hour just to shop at H&M - but it's usually worth it. Check out a few of my very faves below...

I can't tell whether that's a ring or a cuff - I'm hoping it's a ring because it's fabulous! Now on to Matthew Williamson's designs for H&M...
Image: nitro:licious
I'm obsessed with the pink dress in the middle, how amazing is that silhouette? Plus, the color is to die for. Lots more shots and pieces over at nitro:licious, so make sure you check them out!

Sadly, I've never bought any of the pieces from one of H&M's limited-edition designer collabs. I really wish I could (Roberto Cavalli, hello?!), but the closest H&M to me at school is an hour away and it's not one of the stores that gets the pieces. Instead, I just admire from afar, which is what I'll probably be doing with Matthew Williamson's collection for H&M. I hadn't heard of Matthew Williamson before his announcement that he'd be collaborating with H&M, but I saw pictures pop up at New York Fashion Week (I think?), so now I'm semi-familiarized.
Nitro:licious has posted a few shots of pieces from the collection; they're a bit pricey for me but nevertheless cheaper than a garment from Williamson's regular line. The dress I'm loving is so similar to the one seen on Lindsay Lohan, it's almost like wearing one of Williamson's pieces right off the runway.

Today was especially bitter cold in upstate NY, I think my car clocked a cool 16 degrees when I headed home after classes and such around 3 p.m. Awful! Luckily, there are certain things that keep me believing that spring actually WILL arrive sometime (soon, hopefully). And one of these happens to be Alexander McQueen's Target line, which hits select Target stores and Target.com on March 4... Two days! Can you believe it? It feels like just yesterday that I had learned Alexander McQueen would be designing a GO International line, and now the day's nearly here. Check out Brittany Snow in one of the dresses from the collection (it retails at $69.99)...
Prices will be a bit upwards of regular GO International collections, but nonetheless it's a chance for you to score some McQueen merchandise for much cheaper than usual! Thankfully, there are tees and leggings that run under $30, so even if you're on a tight budget you can still afford one or two pieces. If you're wondering what else will be featured in the collection, preview the looks (and prices!) at nitro:licious.

Ah! A week or so ago I posted about Alexander Wang's fringe boots that I spotted in last month's ELLE issue that I am absolutely obsessed with. Well, I just read nitro:licious, which brought to my attention that Forever 21 has pretty much copied the Alexander Wang version. Have a look below:

Fringe Open Toe Boots
$34.80 at Forever 21
They're only $35, which is obviously much much cheaper than the original version. I've never purchased shoes from Forever 21 before because I was concerned about the quality, but I think I just might need to make an exception for these, because the design is amazing.

Can you feel the excitement building?! Nitro:licious reported that Topshop's opening date has finally been revealed as April 2, 2009. I'm obviously excited, and I just might have to make a trip home to the city for what's sure to be a successful shopping experience!

I always browse Topshop's site but I'm hesitant to order anything since I've never worn any of the clothes... but the pieces look so chic! And although Topshop has constantly delayed their opening, I think this time it's for real.

Right on the heels of previewing Miss Trish of Capri for Target, nitro:licious has posted some preview shots of Felix Rey's accessories collection for Target. (The bag below is not from the GO International collection.)

Felix Rey Emma Diaper Bag
$450.00 by Felix Rey at Saks Fifth Avenue
I have to say I'm pretty indifferent about these bags. They look cute for the beach but have the same J.Crew-y vibe that the Miss Trish of Capri sandals had. The Felix Rey collection hits Target stores March 29th, only about a month away and right in time for summer beach trips.
